Abstract : A spectral method of determining iron in ferrocene and its derivatives is highlighted by speed, high sensitivity and sufficient accuracy. The method consists of mixing a sample and various organic solvents in a retort, then pouring it in a cooling cup fulgurator using a revolving electrode. A low capacity spark was produced. Spectra were then recorded. Most suitable solvents in this procedure are cyclohexanone and kerosene. Probable error for an individual determination is 3.4%. By using silicon as an element of comparison, the feasibility of simultaneous determinations is shown. (Author)
