Abstract : A study was made of the effect of small additions of ethyl- and propylamines on the lower limit of autoignition of a stoichiometric mixture of hydrogen with oxygen. It was shown that these additions retard the combustion process. An increase in their concentration leads to an intensification of the inhibiting effect and to an increase in the limit of ignition of a mixture of 2 H2 + O2. The EPR method in the rarefied flame of a mixture of 2 H2 + O2 amine was used to obtain the dependence of concentration of active particles on the amine content. An inverse relationship between the amount of amine in the combustible mixture and the intensity of EPR signals of H and O atoms and OH radicals was established. The following effective rate constants of the reaction were found. (Author)
