Abstract : Incidents occurring at Aberdeen Proving Ground are described in which 1100 lb. Demolition Bombs MK III and a 600 lb. Demolition Bomb M32 when suspended in a G-15 Bomb Rack by means of a B-7 Shackle failed to be released when the rack was tripped. Experiments are described which led to the conclusion that the cause of these malfunctionings was the lack of sufficient strength in the tripping spring of the bomb rack to completely trip the trigger of the shackle.
