Abstract : A new speech discrimination test was formulated by extracting selected words from recordings of the Harvard PB-50 lists. Fifty words were chosen which had been found to be significantly more difficult for patients with sensorineural hearing losses to recognize than for those with normal hearing. Three groups of subjects were tested with the dichotomizing speech discrimination test. (Author)
