Abstract : In areas of severe natural conditions, train power plants and diesel power plants prove to be too disadvantageous. Consequently, due to large deposits of natural gas in Western Siberia, automatic gas driven turbine power plants were recommended for use in this area. Two plants of this type were tested at NPU 'Shaimneft' and these have formed the basis of industrial power supply. P.E.G.-1000-6300 has an output of 1000 kw and P.E.G.-1250-6300 has an output of 1250 kw. Both are equipped for 6300 v. and are powered by gas-driven turbine engines. These engines are fueled by the by-product of oil-wells with a high compression (10-12 at). Comparable portable models have also been constructed. (Author)
