Abstract : The geometrical theory of diffraction has been applied to analysis of the backscattered fields of a cube in the plane normal to four edges of the cube. Cylindrical wave diffraction is assumed to obtain the second order interactions between edges. A normalization factor is developed to obtain the absolute magnitude of the diffracted field in three dimensions. The results of this diffraction analysis are used to calculate the backscattered fields at harmonically related frequencies which are then combined with experimental data and transformed to obtain impulse, ramp and step responses in the time domain. The impulse, ramp and step responses for vertical and horizontal polarization are presented for theta = 0 deg (specular direction), 15, 30 and 45 deg. (Author)
