Abstract : It is often necessary to compensate for the effect of the wind on the impact point of an unguided missile when it is fired overland. Wind compensation procedures are discussed, along with some basic concepts of rocket flight and trajectory simulation. An ARCAS rocket was used as an example. A typical countdown procedure used in firing an ARCAS rocket at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, is outlined, and a glossary of terms is given. (Author)
