Abstract : An experimental investigation was carried out for high temperature heat exchange and hydraulic resistance coefficient for a flow of argon gas flowing in molybdenum pipes of 12 to 10 mm diameter, 500 to 800 mm long, externally heated to 1470 to 1865K. The gas temperature at the pipe inlet was 320 to 710K, and at the outlet end 874 to 1147K; the Reynolds number at the inlet of the pipe and the ratio of wall temperature to as flow temperature varied between 1.26 and 3.8. The experimental results were in good agreement with those from empirical formulas. (Author)
