Abstract : By illuminating the linkage between prior movement and current decisions, population migration histories open several new design possibilities for model building. Modeling not only organizes the statistical explanation of gross migration flows, but also it can maintain an account of that relatively small segment of the population which makes a disproportionate number of moves and offer insight into underlying structural and behavioral determinants.
