Abstract : Although CHAIN 90 was originally planned as a single leg, the vessel returned to Woods Hole twice during the course of the cruise in order to pick up additional anchors. Eleven moorings were set on this cruise, both short-longer-term, to perform a variety of functions including engineering tests of mooring materials and measurements of sampling intervals on deep stations, shear, electromagnetic transport and current. Two moorings, set on previous cruises, were recovered. Additionally, hydro stations and BTs were taken. (Author)
