Abstract : Measurements of Mach speed, of optical emission and microwave attenuation on converging and diverging taper sections are reported. A detailed analysis of the shock flow of the transmitted, reflected and re-reflected waves is attempted. A comparison of the data with the various theories is given. (Author)
