Abstract : The report describes a means for the estimation of the point terrain effect. The most logical procedure was the use of a digital computer in processing mean elevation data that was in a pre-estimated form. However, for the complete terrain effect, a template or the use of smaller blocks is mandatory. The study examined several different equations to be used in the tests. The apparent best theoretical equation was the integrated form in which the earth's curvature was considered. However, it was found that Jung's equations, where slight modifications were made for curvature in the outer area, was just as valid. The solution from Jung's equations was accepted as preferred. The Fortran IV program developed in this study is given as an appendix to the report.
