Abstract : The invention involves a lubricant for rolling metals based on a water suspension of solid graphite. To improve the lubricant effectiveness, potassium chromate and potassium chloride were added. In a variant, to obtain a uniform lubricant layer on the metal surface, alkyl aranesulfonate is added as a wetting agent, or the lubricant composition is set at 5 percent potassium chromate, 2.5 percent potassium chloride, 40 percent graphite, 0.5 percent alkyl aranesulfonate and up to 100 percent water.
