Abstract : For several years the method of invariant imbedding has been used in the numerical study of transmission and reflection properties of materials subjected to flux of particles (neutrons, protons, etc.). In the past, such calculations have been confined to problems involving infinite slabs of transport materials. In the present report the transmission and reflection problem for spherical geometries is investigated both analytically and numerically. Several calculational algorithms have been devised, tested, and compared. Graphs, computer printouts, and the complete computer program are included. (Author)
