Abstract : Laterality and binaural interaction at the level of the auditory cortex were studied in three cats. The evoked potentials in response to acoustic stimuli of clicks and tone-pips were picked up using bilateral macroelectrodes. The problem was drawn from existent knowledge of homolateral/contralateral relationships in the animal, and studies in the human which have indicated asymmetry of function in the cerebral hemispheres related to verbal and nonverbal properties of acoustic stimulation.
