Abstract : The report describes a technique for automating the measurement of indirect systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Characteristics of the K sound are described which may provide a better criteria for detecting diastolic pressure than the disappearance of the sound. From the results of this study recommendations are made for an extensive investigation of the use of K sounds for the determination of diastolic pressure. (Author)
