Abstract : Discussed is research covering the following topics: Reversible emf measurements were made over a range of temperatures for solid-state displacement reactions (going from left to right) M + M'F = MF + M' where M = Ni, Mn, Co, Fe, and Y; Measurements of weight loss at 10 to the -40 atmospheres O2 at 1300C are in agreement with the estimates of others by wet chemical techniques; When MgO is used to control the sintering of dense high purity aluminum oxide it produces poor thermal shock resistance; The initial phase of analysis of the sorption of H2O on Fiberglas E was completed; A new plot of energy vs thickness is proposed to fit water sorption on Fiberglas E.; For water on Fiberglas E, the computed isosteric entropies of adsorption indicate the adsorbed phase is intermediate between the solid and liquid state and reaches the liquid state at higher coverage; Recovery of creep of stoichiometric rutile at zero stress was found and is primarily due to migration and coalescence of dislocation walls during the recovery period; An exact analysis of surface waves in piezoelectric crystals has been completed and compared with a quasi-static analysis.
