Abstract : Unique disjunctive canonical forms have been defined for several classes of events, all of which are generalizations of the composite definite event. A generalized composite event which includes all of these events, and more generally, any event containing concatenations of the free semigroup, A*, has been introduced. Some necessary conditions for the generalized event to be canonically represented have been listed. It is shown, however, that these conditions are not sufficient to provide a unique form. (Author)
