Abstract : A clock-pulse generator (CPG) designed with D227I pnpn diodes is described; its ability to preserve information in the computer on temporary loss of power distinguishes it fro2 other known CPG's. The new CPG comprises: a master unit which is a closed-loop shift register designed with pulse transformers; an output switch unit consisting of three working and three compensating switches (each switch is a relaxation oscillator designed with 5 series-connected pnpn diodes); an emergency-start unit which is intended for starting the CPG during alignment operations or on a break in one of the magnetic-logic-element channels. A principal connection diagram of the CPG is explained. The CPG can supply up to 1000 magnetic logic elements at 3.5 kHz. The CPG was in operation for four months; no malfunction occurred for 750 hrs of its actual work.
