Abstract : The purpose of the 1954 report was to present information regarding inter-test and inter-performance measure correlations of two distinct populations--typical Navy recruits and marginal Navy recruits. Information was obtained regarding their proficiency in rate, seamanship, and conduct; their attitude toward the Navy, adjustment to shipmates, personal appearance, attitude toward work, work performance, general quarters station performance, watch duty performance, predicted advancement, and predicted battle performance, after about one year of duty. The study gives the inter-correlations of all these measures. In addition, it gives the bivariate frequency distributions of the test and performance measures. (Author)
