Abstract : The project is concerned with the selection of physical scientists. A program of research was conducted in this area from November 1947 to May 1949. During this period a research test battery of some twenty of the most promising tests was developed and administered to chemists, physicists, and engineers in 8 governmental installations. A variety of criteria were obtained for analysis such as supervisor and colleague ratings of performance, originality, research ability, grade, and age in grade. Statistical analyses of the relationships among the tests and between test and criteria were made of the several sub-groups and combined groups of scientists. (Author)
