Abstract : The authors had previously prepared adducts of GeF4 with 6-hexanolactam, delta-valerolactam, and 2,6-dimethyl-gamma-pyrone. Analyses corresponded to the formula GeF4,2L. These complexes could be recovered unchanged from aqueous solutions at room temperature. Tetramethylurea formed an air and moisture sensitive 1:2 adduct, and the bidentate donors tetramethylenediamine (I) and alpha, alpha'-bipyridyl (II) gave 1:1 complexes. The 19F and 1H n.m.r. data are summarized. (Author)
