Abstract : Reactions of alkoxyl radicals are of improtance in the decomposition and combustion of propellants and explosives containing organic nitrates. This paper draws attention to an error which has appeared in the literature on decomposition reactions of the isopropoxyl radical and shows that carbon-hydrogen bond fission is not significant in nitric oxide systems at temperatures up to 190C.
