Abstract : Four studies are reported which were designed to provide data relevant to questions concerning differences between men and women in achievement in problem solving. The data obtained support the conclusion that there are sex differences in achievement in problem solving which are not accounted for by differences in intelligence in the groups compared or by known sex differences in special abilities or specific knowledge.
