Abstract : Metallic fracture surfaces are being studied by electron microscopy, using a two stage cellulose acetate-carbon replica technique. However, in tests carried out using specimen carriers made to published designs from woven metal wire screen, replicas were frequently damaged. A solution has been to construct the specimen carrier from 100 mesh stainless steel screen with a closely spaced double layer of screen throughout. (Author)
