Abstract : As a result of the program, several significant contributions to low-noise radar receiver technology were made: The construction and testing of the first lightweight 3-Channel C-Band TWM; The development of a novel, lightweight, tunable superconducting magnet capable of both exact gain and phase tracking, but also capable of exchanging gain for bandwidth remotely; The optimization of size and weight for closed-cycle refrigerator operation, and the packaging of the first wide bandwidth maser in a redundant CCR; The development of a new maser technique for protecting masers from saturation and long recovery times, without adding significant noise to the system; The development of high quality crystal and slow-wave circuits leading to reproducible assembly techniques.
