Abstract : The article is concerned with the microbiologic corrosion occurring in the fuel tanks of jet aircraft. A series of measures are noted which can be taken for detection of bacteria and fungi in fuels in order to prevent contamination of aircraft fuel tanks. The most important measure for contending with this problem appears to be constant checking on the condition of the fuel from the refinery through the tank farm to the fueling equipment at airports and in aircraft wing tanks.
