Abstract : A study has been made of the inhibitory effect of chlorine dioxide and sulfamic acid on the drop in viscosity that accompanies drastic chlorination. Both agents were found to reduce the drop in viscosity when added simultaneously with the chlorine; separate addition had no effect. A given effect is obtained more cheaply with chlorine dioxide than sulfamic acid. Further technical implications are discussed. (Author)
