Abstract : Effects of anisotropies in electron scattering, particularly in scattering by phonons, have been explored. The effects on low temperature resistivity have been found to be pronounced. Similar large effects are expected for galvano-magnetic properties and cyclotron-mass enhancement due to electron-phonon interactions. In an unrelated study the first application of the pseudopotential method to a purely classical problem has been made. This was a study of sound waves in crystals containing localized modes.
