Abstract : The paper reports on the operation of the electron storage ring as the source of ultraviolet radiation for the performance of experiments in solid state, atomic, and surface physics. The highest priority effort was to improve injection optics thereby offering the largest immediate improvement in intensity. In order to make more efficient use of the facility it was the objective to increase the number of ports available for experiments. A higher power amplifier for the radio frequency system was also planned in order to obtain currents in the multi-ampere range. (Author)
