Abstract : The origination of acoustic instability of burning in solid fuel rocket engines is associated with the possibility of amplifying the sound waves during reflections from the burning surface of solid fuel. In the case of a ballistic powder, it is possible to derive an analytical formula and numerical values for acoustic conductance relying on completely specific experimental values for all parameters figuring in the basic equations. Given are the results of such calculations. (Author)
