Abstract : The serum of mice, injected intravenously with bovine serum albumin, on injection into fresh mice induced a specific immunological tolerance to this antigen. The optimum dose of albumin administered to the donor was 0.125-5 mg. The most pronounced effect was produced by serum taken from the donors 1 1/2-3 hours after injection of the protein antigen. Tolerance in recipients of the serum continued up to 50 days. Afterwards, production of antibodies was noted without additional administration of the antigen. (Author)
