Abstract : Report deals with research on propagation of microwaves between two points on earth's surface separated a distance considerably beyond line of sight. Frequency used is 3.2 GHz. Receiving system employs an antenna array which permits wave front sampling. Propagation measurements are supplemented by meteorological measurements of temperature, humidity turbulence, etc. Pofiles of refractive index are obtained by flying a plane equipped with a microwave refractometer through the atmospheric path in which the signal is scattered.
