Abstract : A review of crystallization of linear high polymers under high pressure is given. The research performed included crystallization of polyethylene from the melt and from solution under varying conditions of time, temperature, and pressure. The extended chain crystals obtained were analyzed by dilatometry, calorimetry, optical and electron microscopy, differential thermal analysis, and X-ray diffraction. An explanation for crystallization and melting of polymers under pressure was developed. (Author-PL)
