Abstract : The book describes the formation and propagation of shock waves which arise during the entry of large meteorites into the Earth's atmosphere. Results are presented of the experimental modelling and theoretical investigation of shock wave propagation in the atmosphere and their interaction with the Earth's surface. The obtained data are applied to the study of explosive phenomena related to the fall of the Tunguska meteorite. (Author)
