Abstract : Mass Spectrometric studies of isomolecular, homogeneous gas phase equilibria have been used to determine the heats of formation of the following gaseous species: ZrF, ZrF2, TiF, TiF2, TiF3, ZrCl, ZrCl2, ZrCl3, TiCl, TiCl2, CaCl, SrCl, BaCl, BCl, GaF, InF, and TlF. The vaporization of TiF3 and TiCl3 have been studied using simultaneous torsion- and gravimetric effusion. The vaporization of Al and Li have been studied and the heats of vaporization obtained. The decomposition pressures of aluminum carbide and the lithium aluminates have been measured using torsion effusion. The vapor pressure of very pure gold has been measured. Simultaneous torsion-gravimetric effusion measurements fixed the molecular weight of LiF vapor. Beam modulation mass spectrometry has elucidated the electron-impact cracking pattern for LiF vapor.
