Abstract : A three sublattice ferrimagnetic model for Ga(2-x)F(x)O3 is shown to explain all the presently available magnetic data. The x dependence of the iron occupation of the various sublattices is obtained, and the x dependence of the magnetization and the Curie temperature is calculated. All of these agree quite well with experimental data. It is shown that the magnetoelectric effect does not contribute (in the order considered) to the various material constants. Most of the elastic, piezoelectric, and dielectric constants of GaFeO3 are measured.
