Abstract : The elastic-perfectly plastic behaviors of a hollow spherical shell under internal pressure and the pure torsion of a solid circular cylinder are investigated in the present report. These investigations are based on a modified form of the Mises yield condition in which the effects of stress gradients are taken into account. The report concludes with a brief discussion of the result. (Author)
