Abstract : For semiconductor devices analytic solutions to the set of describing nonlinear partial differential equations do not in general exist. Lumped electrical models and digital computer numerical models have been used to obtain approximate solutions. The research which in part is being reported was concerned with methods for systematically and efficiently finding small and accurate numerical models suitable for use in algorithms for computer-aided analysis and design of bipolar junction devices.
