Abstract : The energy bands for ordered beta prime-PdIn have been calculated by the augmented-plane-wave (APW) method. The results are similar to those for beta prime-CuZn except near R. The theoretical extremal Fermi surface cross-sections are reasonably in agreement with those obtained by the de Haas-van Alphen studies. The possible open orbits have also been studied. The electronic density of states curve has been obtained from the energy bands. The electronic specific heat coefficient, the magnetic susceptibility and the cyclotron effective masses have also been estimated. Comparisons have been made between the results and optical data.
