Abstract : To improve the measurement of the azimuth direction of arrival of radar echoes at 36.8 MHz, a digitally controlled phase sequence interferometer technique has been developed for incorporation into the UNH/AFCRL meteor trails radar system. Phase measurements are made with respect to a common calibration pulse inserted between successive echoes. Preliminary tests indicate an azimuth measurement capability of better than plus or minus 2 degrees when used in conjuction with an elevation measurement system of comparable accuracy. (Author)
