Abstract : Analytic solution of the nonlinear heat conduction equation is presented. The solution technique is applicable to thermally anisotropic and isotropic media with temperature dependent thermal properties. It is shown that the nonlinear equations can be converted to linear equations with the aid of an algebraic transformation. The algebraic transformation is used to determine the temperature field and the heat transfer in two dimensional isotropic and anisotropic media. (Author)
