Abstract : A space mission was simulated to measure the thermal performance of an actual, hardware, thermal management system. The system performance was then compared with the thermal performance predicted by a computer program which analytically describes the hardware system. The hardware system is a semiactive thermal control system and the computer program is a modified version of the IBM 7094 Lockheed Thermal Analyzer Program. The space mission simulation consists of various heat load schedules for the system and a duplication of the space thermal environment. The analytical representation of the hardware system involves thermal, flow, and servo analyses. The results obtained demonstrate that the analytical representation of the actual system was accurate within 5% of measured system performance. (Author)
