Abstract : Double mutants containing the radiosensitive alleles uxsl (UVR-EXR-) and either uvsl-2 or uvsl 9-2 (both UVR-EXR+) have been constructed. These double mutants were found to be extremely sensitive to UV: their LD37 doses are 0.3--0.5 ergs/mm square as compared to 16--40 ergs/mm square for the radiosensitive parental strains carrying only a single mutant gene and 456 ergs/mm square for wild-type.
