Abstract : Filtration is the most widely used of all methods for collecting radioactive aerosols from the air. A KAVZ-651 bus was equipped with a mobile unit which enabled it to take samples of atmospheric radioactive aerosols. It has a four-cycle, six cylinder internal combustion engine with 70 kp rated at 2800 rpm. In one revolution there are three intake cycles which correspond to an air capacity of 290 cum/hr. This capacity of the filtration unit makes it possible to measure two concentration of B-active aerosols in atmospheric air. (Author)
