Abstract : The gas-static bearing consists of a collar with a cylindrical hollow under the journal of the pin or shaft with several pockets, a system of supplying the bearing with the working medium under pressure of an external source, and regulating elements. It is distinguished by the fact that in order to reduce the expenditure of the working medium through the clearances between the hollow of the collar and journal, to enable increasing in connection with this the indicated clearances, facilitating assembly, and improving its reliability, the pockets are surrounded at the external ends of the ring by labyrinth annular slots. In the bridges which separate the pockets from one another are labyrinth grooves along the generatrices, which are not joined to the annular labyrinth slots. (Author)
