Abstract : In a number of cases when antifriction plastics are used in friction units of rolling mills, where great strength is required, even textolite (possessing high physicomechanical indices) do not withstand the impact loads. The application of polyamide synthetic fibers as fillers for phenol resins makes it possible to obtain a material which has high resistance to moisture, impact strength, and wear resistance. In the reported work caprone fiber and phenol-formaldehyde resin were used to prepare plastics, which were then investigated. (Author)
