Abstract : Results of an investigation of thermocyclic creep and rupture strength in niobium, tantalum, and molybdenum based refractory alloys under conditions of sharp temperature variations and also under conditions of alternating isothermal and nonisothermal loads during axial tension and compression. Time to failure in these alloys is found to be determined primarily by the time parameters of the loading cycles, while the effects of fatigue on strength are practically insignificant in them.
