Abstract : A new model is presented for rocks which predicts observed laboratory and field behavior better than any model advanced previously, while at the same time satisfying the most restrictive requirements of classical plasticity theory. The applicability of the new model to the description of rock behavior for Cedar City Tonalite is investigated. (Author)
