Abstract : A phase-sequenced interferometer subsystem is described which has been shown to provide accurate determination of the azimuth and elevation of short lived radar targets. This system is part of a Meteor Radar System used to study upper atmospheric winds. The interferometer sybsystem provides the angle information in the form of a train of digital pulses which are recorded on magnetic tape as part of the system output. Satellite verification has been used to determine the accuracy of the subsystem, which is calibrated by a straight-forward procedure on the ground. Results of this verification are discussed and modifications to the present system are suggested. (Author)
